Natural Medicine Can
Work Wonders |
 |
|
Just like
humans, domesticated animals like dogs
and cats are affected by the health
hazards of modern living. Pollution,
poor nutrition, stress and unhealthy
lifestyles can lead to a variety of
illnesses and conditions that are very
similar to those experienced by humans.
These
days, emotional and psychological
problems like depression, anxiety, ADHD
and behavioral problems are just as
prevalent in pets as they are in their
owners. Similarly, physical ailments
such as diabetes, arthritis, chronic
fatigue, digestive disorders, cystitis,
kidney and liver disease, skin
disorders, obesity, thyroid dysfunction
and other problems are becoming more and
more common in domesticated animals.

Natural Prevention of
Urinary Track Infections in Pets |
 |
|
If you’ve noticed that your
dog has recently been whining to go out more often, he may
be suffering from a urinary tract infection (UTI). In
addition to frequent urination, the following signs may
indicate a UTI:
* Straining, pain or
difficulty urinating
* Blood in the urine
* Foul smelling urine
* Urination in inappropriate places
* Tender lower abdomen (in the area of the bladder)
* Fever
* Lethargy
Similar signs can be seen
with urinary stones or obstructions. Your veterinarian can
rule out these other problems.

| Ask
Dr. Jane - Hot Spots |
 |
|
Dear
Dr. Jane: I
have a small dog who has a couple of “hot spots” in
which the skin is red and open from all of the
scratching. My dog is eating the
Canine Zone weight loss food, and I’ve already
ordered the
Skin & Coat Formula and the
Soothing Mist. I believe the hot spots are due
to airborne allergies. Is there anything else that
you can recommend to relieve the itching during the
time that I am waiting for the products to be
delivered and the time in which it takes for the
Skin & Coat Formula to build up in the system?
Dr.
Jane's Answer: Yes,
bathing a dog or cat in tepid water – let them soak for 5
minutes is great. You can add sodium bicarbonate to the
water and that helps. You might want to call the vet and ask
if the dog can be given an antihistamine.

Pet Tip - Better Food, Less Mess |
 |
To get your canine
the healthiest he can be, consider feeding him a
high quality natural dog food that is typically
found at a specialty pet store or online.
Because these foods have less preservatives and
fillers, your pet will excrete less waste. That
makes clean-up quicker and easier. Your canine
will enjoy a healthier, more nutritious diet and
you have less mess to deal with!
We recommend
HealthyPetNet's Life's Abundance, which is
the #1 preferred natural premium pet food
by holistic veterinarians and

BARF:
What is Ester C and Bowel Tolerance? |
|
Ester C is a buffered form of Vitamin
C, which is easier on the stomach than other C’s
(ascorbic acid). If you decide to use Ester C or any
of the other buffered form of C (calcium ascorbate
or sodium ascorbate), you will be able to provide a
much higher dosage than you would with ascorbic
acid. If you are providing a buffered form of C, you
might want to start out with 500 mg and increase the
dosage (splitting the dosage to twice per day) until
you determine the bowel tolerance. From that point,
you can then determine how much C you want to offer
per day.

Save a Stray |
The Animal Rescue
Site is having trouble getting enough people to
click on their link daily to meet their quota of
getting free food donated every day to abused
and neglected animals.
It takes less
than a minute to go to their site and click on
“feed an animal in need” for free. This doesn’t
cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/
advertisers use the number of daily visits to
donate food to abandoned/ neglected animals in
exchange for advertising. (Weight Watchers is
one of the sponsors!)
Here’s the web
site! Click on this link, and when the site
opens, click on the purple box that says Feed an
Animal for free. That’s it! Pass it along to
people you know.
