Healthy Recipe Corner |

Liver Snaps
1 lb liver pureed
(I use my food processor)
1 c cornmeal
1t crushed garlic
enough flour to make it roll out.
Roll onto greased cookie sheet and press to about
1/3 inch thick. Bake 20 minutes on 320 degrees. Cut
into about 1" squares using a pizza wheel/cutter.
You can freeze or refrigerate. Cornmeal can be
substituted with whole wheat flour or any type of
flour that you prefer to use (ground millet works
well, too.)
REMEMBER to either
refrigerate or freeze homemade treats to avoid
spoilage and insect infestation.

Dr. Jane - Probiotics and What Destroy Them |
 |
|
Dear
Dr. Jane: What
destroys probiotics/digestive enzymes?
Dr.
Jane's Answer: Just
to name a few: antibiotic use, preservatives in food,
chlorine and chemicals in the water supply, antibiotics in
the food supply (which is one reason why I use free range
chicken in our
Life's Abundance pet foods. Free range chickens are not
fed antibiotics.

Pet Tip - October and Cats |
 |
|
If you own a cat
and let it go outside, remember that this a bad
time of year for cats. Vicious people tend to
find Halloween an excuse to hurt or kill them.
Keep them inside as much as possible. They are
safer inside on a daily basis anyway.

|
Cat Ghost Stories |
|
It’s that time of year again when
everything that is normal becomes suspect - and that
includes the mysterious creature that is known as a
cat. Shrouded in mystery, the cat has long been
linked with witches, gods and ghosts. So it is only
natural that on Halloween the spooky cat stories
come to light.

Car Sickness |
The first thing to
realize when dealing with car sickness is that
in 95% of cases it is stress related and not
motion related. The most powerful memory imprint
of any dogs brain is probably the car ride when
it was taken away from all it ever new to be
safe and secure, its litter mates and its
mother. The most traumatic memory a young dog
has is in relation to a ride in a car. So its
not surprising that subsequent rides in a car
should evoke very strong mental and subsequent
physical trauma.
